Grace Jones, the Jamaican American musician, model and actress, was born in 1948. She began her pop career with three hit records in the late 1970's which also caught the attention of artist Andy Warhol. She became one of his models and companions at the famous Studio 54.
In the early 1980's Jones restyled herself into an androgynous, but sexually powerful creature who could morph between a variety of personae with her ever present flat top. Her style was mimicked by the likes of the Olympic champion sprinter Carl Lewis among others.
