Die Form is the name of an experimental electronic band formed by artist Philippe Fichot in 1977. The band's name which literally means "The Form" in German is also a play on the word "deform" in English. This double entendre is meant to elicit the band's tendency to mix many styles, musically and verbally, in its compositions. The imagery that goes along with the band's releases is likewise a blend of styles and imagery including these images from the 2000 release Extremum/XX. The cover image at left shows the fusing and morphing of two figures into each other and the bottom left hints at decay and dissection. Neither image betrays any specific gender identity, instead focusing on the inner morphologies and spirituality of the human form.
