Eko and Iko were sideshow performers alternatively billed as "ambassadors" from Mars or "sheepheaded cannibals" from the South Seas. They were actually black albinos from Georgia who were discovered as potential performers by circus scouts. Their grooming and costume not only covers their national origin, but also their gender identities.
