Fashion advertising often runs into the dilemma of how to balance its fetish of youthfulness with the desire to be alluring. If youthfulness is stressed too much, the element of sexuality could be seen as perverse. If sexuality is stressed over youthfulness, the merchandise could be seen as too "mature". Perhaps this is why most fashion models appear to be among the semi-gendered immediate postpubescent portion of the larger human population.
